One of the more popular materials used in papasan chairs nowadays is steel, most likely because of its very modern look. Steel chairs can also last longer than those that are made of rattan, which can rot over the years if exposed to the elements or not taken of properly. However, steel chairs are not as lightweight as the original rattan version, and they are considerably more expensive as well.
Just like any other cushion or upholstered furniture, the cushion of your papasan chair will accumulate dust and dirt over time. Regular cleaning can help prevent dust buildup so be sure to vacuum your cushions at least once a week if the chairs are used frequently. You should vacuum both sides of the cushion, using the right attachment for the hose. If you don't really use the papasan chairs so much, you can do the vacuuming just once or twice a month.
