Back then, when we moved to a new apartment, I considered these chairs too space consuming, but I could never say that to mom. There were some days when I pushed them in the corner, or sometimes place them in different rooms to make up for the constrained space problem that we were facing. However, my husband has been very considerate of them, and he made sure these lounge chairs are always in the right condition (perhaps the most compassionate action a man can ever do) and today, five years after that time I find these chairs to be playing an important role in our lives.
Lounge chairs undergo certification attesting to their greenness and their certification for chemicals. The FTC wood frame certification is from the Forest Stewardship Council. Loungers and the companies that make them may have this designation. The McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) Cradle to Cradle™ Design Protocol, implemented since 2010, is a protocol used in certification processes by the Cradle Products Innovation Institute. This product certification takes a comprehensive approach to evaluating not only inputs to design but the entire production process. It insures contemporary American lounge chairs and a host of other products are produced using closed loop methods. Did you ever think so much thought on sustainable and green issues like renewable energy, product recovery, water stewardship, and third party social responsibility went into the lounger you are lounging on?
